CALL FOR YOUNG ACTORS TO COME FORWARD FOR A FESTIVE STOKIE SHOW

A Stoke-on-Trent theatre company are on the lookout for aspiring actors to come forward for the first Christmas production at The Dipping House, Spode Works.

Claybody Theatre are producing their ‘Stokie’ version of the magical tale - A Christmas Carol - which will run for just over two weeks in December.

With lead actor Andrew Price playing the iconic Ebenezer Scrooge, the search is now on for the empathetic character Tiny Tim - son of Bob Cratchit in the story.

Auditions will take place at the end of September, at The Dipping House where two actors will be selected to play the part.

Deborah McAndrew, Co-Artistic Director at Claybody Theatre, said: “We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for two young actors to share the role of Tim Cratchit in our production of A Christmas Carol.

“Playing the part of Tiny Tim is something quite special and will provide the perfect opportunity to gain experience in theatre whilst also working with a professional cast.”

Deborah added: “Places for the audition sessions are limited and we are asking for young actors aged between 9 - 12 years to register via our website where all the information can be found.”

A Christmas Carol will run from Friday 5 to Saturday 20 December, with 17 performances taking place at The Dipping House, Spode Works, Stoke ST4 1BU.

Rehearsals will take place between Monday 3 and Saturday 29 November, and a performance schedule will be shared between the two chosen actors for the part of Tiny Tim.

As well as lead Andrew Price, Jack Quarton - who appeared in Claybody’s Song of the Sytch in 2023 - will be joining as composer and musical director, as well as playing Scrooge’s warmhearted nephew Fred.
